Summary:
A noire story with Frobisher, the shapeshifting penguin companion of the Sixth Doctor
Ugh:
While there isn't that much actually icky stuff (besides the living puddle of blood) Dogbolter is a very icky character.
Review:
An enjoyable story from Rob Shearman, one of the best writers for Big Finish which barely features the Doctor in it - with Colin voicing Frobisher in the form of the Doctor for most of it. The Maltese Penguin is one of the most delightful stories from Big Finish. Mind you, it doesn't have the standard Shearman twist (see Punchline or The Chimes of Midnight), however, that isn't a flaw. Overall a very fun story i'd recommend for anyone starting out with Big Finish or Doctor Who for that matter. Only real flaw is the moment of lorebabble at the end, however, that is a rather small flaw in an otherwise perfect story
9/10
